The Energy Services Department provides intermediate and long range engineering planning and construction services to ensure adequate, reliable, and quality utilities systems to the university community. All activities related to the operation of the Central Steam Plant serving the main campus are under the responsibility of this department. Functions performed include the following:
- Oversees steam production, operations, and maintenance of central heating and power plant equipment to include fuel management.
- Performs maintenance and construction of utility tunnels underground distribution systems to the building wall for electricity, gas, steam, chilled water, domestic water, sanitary and storm drains.
- Conducts planning, develop concepts, program designs, requests funds for procurement and constructing of utilities with ultimate turn-over to Operations and Maintenance of completed works.
